Hi Angela! You really want to use a quality chocolate with a high percentage of cocoa (typically between 55 and 85). I don’t know that Hershey’s won’t work, but I have always found Ghiradelli and Lindt to be the most successful. 🙂

Have you ever used brand name candy…Hershey’s, Symphony, Dove, etc? We didn’t have any luck with Hershey’s or Reese’s Wondering if you have any tips for those or if they’re just not good for melting chocolate.

Hi Allie! The shells will be just fine not being filled. Just make sure to store them in an air tight container. 🙂

I’m thinking about making these in bulk as gifts, and was planning to maybe tackle all the shells in one (or a couple) sitting(s) and then fill them/decorate a few days later when I have help. I’ve only made them once using your recipe and they were great!!

Hi Eliana! I think it would work just fine with other shaped molds. It just may be a little more difficult to line them up perfectly. 🙂

I’m excited to make this recipe, but I was wondering if this would work with other shaped molds? I only have flower and square molds.
Thanks!

I love baking them and my family likes the product. Moreover, molds are cheap. I found it only for 6.99 USD

Hi Amy! They are normally near the hot cocoa in my grocery store. You may be able to find some online from Amazon. Make sure to search for dehydrated marshmallows. 🙂

Hi Heather! I would recommend the dehydrated marshmallows that you find in cocoa mix. I found a bottle of them in my local grocery store. 🙂

I didn’t need to see a video to make them, I think the recipe was very easy to follow, especially easy when you have just a little bit of common sense in the kitchen.

Hi Astra! Unless your chocolate shell is really really thin this shouldn’t be an issue. 🙂

Hi Cathy! Good news! There is a video, right at the top of the recipe card you can watch me make these cocoa bombs step-by-step. I hope that helps! 🙂

for people to imagine what you’re actually doing.

I had friends who tried to make the Chocolate Bombs and it ended up with the ingredient being
eaten with a spoon.

Hi Suzanne! As long as you are able to maintain the temperature that will work fine. 🙂

Hi Deb! This recipe makes about 6 hot chocolate bombs so you could just use an extra ounce of chocolate. You can certainly chop the chocolate in advance. Good luck and I hope the girls love them! 🙂

Our troop has 7 girls (and the weather where we are at is nice, so we are able to have our meetings outside in a courtyard). I’m ordering each girl their own mold & brush – so each can make 3 hot chocolate bombs. How much chocolate do you recommend I get (since I don’t want to run in and out microwaving it). Also is it okay to pre-chop the chocolate before the meeting – that’s a step we don’t need to spend half the meeting doing…lol? Thanks!!
