An easy, creamy, crispy-cookie-bit-stuffed Nutella filling layered over an Oreo crust and topped with whipped cream and more cookie crumbs.
My inability to make decisions is well-documented and ever-irritating. I pity my husband. I know, Zach, that it shouldn’t take me 3 hours to decide which bar of soap to buy, but if you think for a second that I’m putting out a hard-earned $3 without first carefully reading and assessing every review on Amazon, well, you’ve lost your mind.
And while I stress about most of my dessert recipes fairly equally (making sure I’ve selected the best ingredients and ratios and baking times etc.), it seems to be the “simplest” recipes that absolutely make me want to tear my hair out.
These sweet and simple, supremely easy, no-bake Nutella Crunch Dessert Shooters are a prime example.
A dozen text messages and photos went out to my siblings, filled with questions about general preferences and pleas for opinions, and it finally took one sister and another sister’s boyfriend showing up at my house and taste-testing these dessert shooters before I finally settled upon the perfect recipe.
The good news is, once the recipe is done and published, I know that I’m satisfied with it. This recipe is no exception, and these might just be my favorite miniature desserts yet.
These dessert shooters are simple creatures, easy to make, no-bake, and bite-sized.
The first time I made them, the cookie crumbs were limited to the very bottom and the tippy-top of the shooters, but clearly something was lacking.
I ultimately decided (thanks to the help and support of my siblings and their significant others) that I wanted some more crunch throughout the dessert.
A full cup of pulverized Oreo crumbs adds a nice crunch to every bite. The filling is otherwise creamy, rich, and thick with Nutella flavoring. The best alternative to eating it straight out of the jar by the spoonful.
My sister, Nikki, also recommends freezing them before eating for an extra frosty treat, though I haven’t tried them that way yet.
Enjoy!

Hey, Sam!
Thank you so much for these delicious “shooter” dessert recipes of yours! I’m going to be making this Nutella deliciousness for a family dinner this Friday.
I might be misunderstanding the instructions here when you say “Gradually add 10x sugar”, but what exactly do you mean by the “10x”? I’m a little confused.
Thank you!
Emily @ Sugar Spun Run
So sorry for the confusion, Nazish! 10x sugar is the same thing as powdered or confectioner’s sugar 🙂
Carol
Is there something that can be used to substitute Nutella due to allergies?
Sam
Hi Carol! Have you checked out my other dessert shooters? I have a cake batter dessert shooter, pumpkin pie cheesecake dessert shooters, raspberry cheesecake layered dessert shooters, and oreo cheesecake dessert shooters. 🙂
CJJ
HELLO SAM I WOULD LIKE TO TRY MAKING THE NUTELLA CRUNCH DESSERT I HAVE A BOX OF 400GRM OF OREO BAKING CRUMBS WILL THAT WORK INSTEAD OF OREO COOKIES
THANKYOU

That should work. 🙂
Maribel
Good afternoon,
You mentioned in the recipe 4 cups of cool whip. Is that amount the same as small container (8oz)of cool whip? I’m assuming that after the recipe calls for about 12oz including the additional 4oz.
Sam
Hi Maribel! It’s been a long time since I’ve made this one, I’m actually working to update it with homemade whipped cream. 🙂 I believe it’s about 1 12 oz tub for the entire recipe. 🙂
Cali Cote
I made this for New Years Day dinner’s dessert. I don’t see where to post a picture…but they were the HIT of the dinner. Mini gold spoons sticking out.. it was so pretty. Sooo delicious!
Devyn
2 oz seems really small, has anyone doubled it? Or is it too rich for a 4 oz portion?
Sam
Hi Devyn! You could certainly double it. 🙂
Eva
I made this recipe and it was AMAZING! Loved every spoon of it! Thanks for sharing 😍
Sam
I am so glad you enjoyed them so much, Eva! 🙂

Could you please give the measurements that you have listed as ‘cups’ into grams? (Nutella, powdered sugar, cool whip).
Thanks!
Sam
I’m so sorry! This is an older recipe I haven’t updated yet.
Nutella 490g
Powdered Sugar 125g
Cream Cheese 340g
Cool Whip (about 11 ounces)
Kaila
Would brownie work instead of Oreos?
Sam
Hi Kaila! I’m not sure how well it would mix in but you could use it as the base layer. 🙂
Mollie
Do you use the whole Oreo with the filling or just the cookie part?
Sugar Spun Run
Hi, Mollie! I use the whole Oreo. 🙂
Arlet
These are sooo good!!! I made them for a party and added a mini Oreo as a topper instead of crushed Oreos. They were gone within the first 10 minutes. Thank you so much for this recipe!
Sugar Spun Run

Happy 2023!
Thank you for this recipe! I’m planning on making this for my Galentine’s Day party and want to know if I could make the filling in advance. Would it do well stored in a ziplock bag for a couple days in the refrigerator until I was ready to prepare? Thank you, again!
Sam
This filling can be made in advance. I would simply store it in an air tight container in the refrigerator until ready to use. Enjoy! 🙂
sweetspot.
hello, just wondering what the 10x sugar is means? i know that it is referring to the powdered sugar, however what does it mean? – am i supposed to put in a tenth of the sugar or put in ten times the amount in the ingredients???
look forward to your reply
thanks 🙂
Sam
It is just powdered sugar. The 10x actually refers to how fine the sugar is. No need for any math or adjustments to the ingredients. 🙂
Sammy
Hi. I don’t seem to understand where in the directions it mentions add 10x the sugar. Can you explain this please? In the ingredients list, it only says 1 cup sugar.
Sam
Hi Sammy! 10x sugar is powdered sugar. It is listed in the ingredients list. 🙂
MEHNAAZ
Is there no videos to make this desserts
Sam
I don’t have a recipe for this one at this time.
Jade
Hi, I’m from the uk. What is cool whip? And what can I substitute it with here in the uk😊 x
Sam
Hi Jade! You can substitute my homemade whipped cream instead 🙂
Allie
I was thinking of making a whole dish out of this. Putting all of the Oreo mix/crust at the bottom. Followed by the rest of the recipe. I’ll let you know!
Sam
I hope you love it! 🙂
Jessica
Hi! Would this be possible if I am using elbow grease instead of electric mixers? 😬 Because I don’t have any lol
Sam
Hi, Jessica. You would need your cream cheese to be very soft in order to cream it with the nutella, but it should work. 🙂
Ry
Can I make the Nutella Shots a day early? Or will the Oreo crumbs get soggy?
Sam
It will be fine to make them a day in advance. Enjoy! 😊
